For absolute beginners this Drawing and painting course is for fun and pleasure, you’ll get the
opportunity to draw using artists pencils , explore different types of shading and look
at ways artists learn to observe the world around them . you’ll get a chance to play
with watercolour paint discovering how to mix colour and create a small watercolour
painting.

Who can join this course: 

Adults with no prior knowledge of the subject or people who had done a little at home but have not engaged in any art lessons

Course Description:

This 4 week (1.5 hour sessions) course will guide you to taking some first steps in drawing and painting for pleasure. You’ll get the
opportunity to draw using artists pencils, explore different types of shading and look at ways artists learn to observe the world around them. You’ll get a chance to play with watercolour paint, discovering how to mix colour and create a small watercolour painting.

What will you gain from this course:

Knowledge on how to identify and apply different types of shading. Be able to confidently observe objects and translate into sketches with graded pencils.

You’ll be able to identify primary, secondary and tertiary colours on a colour wheel, mix them yourselves and recognise three
watercolour painting techniques.

What students need to bring:

All materials for this short course are provided, however you may wish to bring a small sketchbook/ pen to take some notes
