Everyone welcome. Anyone with Artistic Curiosity.
WHAT WILL YOU GAIN
Japanese Artists recognise the tranquil beauty found in simplicity and space. In the passing of the Seasons and the Rhythms of Nature.
We will look at 3 Artists:
Katsushika Hokusais The Great Wave [1831] and gain inspiration for his beautiful works displaying the forces of Nature.
We will work in Acrylics/Pastels
Yayoi Kusama, who at 96 looks at repetition in a unique way. Oneself and the Infinite. " I fight pain & anxiety every day and the only method I have found that relieves my illness is to kerp creating Art"
We will look at the creative notion of repetition and how comfort can be found within.
We will work in Acrylics/pens.
Shinro Ohtake takes found objects and materials and incorporates them into his exceptional creations. " Anything can be transformed"
We will bring in some ' found materials' and dive into human memories and emotions. Creating a personal, individualistic artwork.
Medium; acrylic paint pens/ collage papers/magazines/photos/images.
In these Japanese sessions we will delve into Wabi Sabi ( wisdom for a perfectly imperfect life) and will have cosy, creative chats to feel an artistic sense of community & belonging. This will be a calm, supportive and creative space where discussions and art techniques will be discovered, shared and enjoyed.
