
This is an introductory course in fused glass which covers the basic concept of working with a range of colourful 'Bullseye' glass products. You will be given individual support and guidance to design and make your own bespoke glass work e.g. coasters, hanging ornaments, small panels.

This is an introductory course in fused glass which covers the basic concept of working with a range of colourful 'Bullseye' glass products. You will be given individual support and guidance to design and make your own bespoke glass work e.g. coasters, hanging ornaments, small panels. All the necessary specialist materials and equipment will be provided.
Once complete, your glass will need to be kiln fired, so it will be ready for collection 7 - 10 days after the event, depending on the type of work being produced. (Each firing will take around 9 hours and a day to cool before the kiln can be opened).
You will be notified when your glass is ready to collect.
What do I need to join this course?
This course is for Adults over 18yrs, no prior experience is necessary; just an open mind and a willingness to experiment.
What do I need to have with me?
For safety reasons you must wear casual clothing and closed toed shoes in the studio.
About The Tutor
Christine Jeffryes graduated from Loughborough College of Art and Design with a degree in printed textiles and began her career as a textile designer and colour consultant working for two London based design studios and selling worldwide.
Her passion for drawing was always evident in her work and she began teaching art and design in a further education college to share her knowledge and skills. Over the last thirty years she has taught all aspects of art, design and photography as well as taking on a wide range of professional projects and exhibiting her work in galleries.
Her interest and work in glass now takes up most of her time as her work is becoming sought after and she loves the freedom and experimental nature of this medium.
How will I be taught?
By demonstration and individual guided practice you will be taught to select, cut and combine glass safely to achieve a range of different effects.
You will be able to see examples of products showing what can be achieved
You will be given handouts to support the session
