Our Green Day 2026

Our Green Day event was wonderfully supported by our local community, everyone enjoying a wide range of environmental workshops and inspiring talks. We are incredibly grateful to Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council for their support in helping to make the event such a success.

Throughout the day, we offered a variety of activities for children and families, including bug hunts, bird feeder making, nature drawing, eco-bunting creation, making a bag for life from recycled materials, painting with sustainable seaweed-based paints, collage, and colouring activities.

Visitors also enjoyed informative talks on creating wildlife ponds, transforming aromatic plants into oils and hydrosols for health and wellbeing, and learning about the latest projects and activities taking place at Mockets Wood.
We were delighted to welcome Thanet Coast Project, Windmill Community Gardens, Kent Adult Education, the local RSPB group, and Broadstairs Botanicals, who shared their fantastic work and inspired everyone with their knowledge and passion for the environment.

Finally, I would like to say a huge thank you to my wonderful friends, the Coastal Community Learning team, and former colleagues whose help and support on the day made the event possible. Thank you Mike Garner for dropping in too!
